The One day series is about to begin with The 1st ODI at HPCA stadium in Dharamshala which could be another exciting one for the Fans Of both teams around the globe. Now after having a look at India’s squad for the series one of the major strengths of the Team is back after a long term injury and rehabilitation process in form of Hardik Pandya who was recently into the limelight in the DY Patil T20 cup after some teriffic knocks of 100(39) and 158*(55).
Another reason to cherish was bhuvneswar Kumar’s comeback into the Team who will have to play the major role of heading the bowling along with Jasprit Bumrah.
The squad is very much better in comparison to one which toured New Zealand earlier.
What is the Opening Pair ?
With the Entry of Shikhar Dhawan it is very much likely that we will see shikhar open the batting, but the question here is who will be there to play in place of Rohit Sharma as he is out with an injury. We definitely need to have a strong Opening Pair because .back in New Zealand bringing in 2 new Players Players in Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal hasn’t worked in team India’s favour and was one of the main reasons for the series loss. Now considering the present scenario it would be more apt for Shikhar Dhawan to Open the batting with Prithvi Shaw, because both play together for the same franchise in the IPL and have a better understanding of each others move while batting together. Both of them make very strong Opening Pair in form of Experience and a youngster.we can even see better Performance from Shaw as Shikhar Dhawan will be there at other end to guide him.
Where can Shubman Gill Bat?
The U19 Indian Team star Shubman Gill has played really well and deserves a chance in the Playing XI of 1st ODI for India. He was in the Indian A side and had scored 204* in one of the practice Games and looks one of the best contenders for middle order. He can be used instead of Shreyas Iyer just to check how Good he can maneuver with his batting and contribute. Nevertheless he is also a brilliant fielder who is quick and needs some chances to perform at the highest level. So it wouldn’t be wise if he is not playing in the series.
Bowlers Role in India winning :
Bhuvneswar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah will have a huge responsibility on their shoulders and let the Spinners do the trick for India as the South African Batting lineup is strong against fast bowling. However there will be a bit of help for bhuvneswar Kumar to swing in these conditions. Spinners will have a key Role to play as they have to look to restrict the South African batters or it would be a tedious task for the Indian either to defend or chase. Chahal and kuldeep are always dangerous if play together and bowl from either ends in the middle overs.
South Africa’s strong points:
The skipper Quinton de kock has average of 60.3 in 14 innings in India and has proved his class in all the formats of the game. His new role as Captain will only increase the expectations of him from his teammates and his fans. He is one who could be dangerous for India.

Along with him his new Opening Partner Janeman Malan who was quite impressive after a horrible debut Against Australia in February 2020.But come back even more stronger with an unbeaten 129* and gave South Africa a 6 wickets win. So this indicates his strength against Fast bowling.
